Cowboy Days Rodeo

This Labor Day, the boys got to be in the rodeo here in Evanston. Grandma and Grandpa Low came up here to watch. They had to wait for about half of the rodeo before it was their event, Muttin Bustin. They were pumped up. Jackson was the first rider. He fell right off and hopped back up with a huge smile on his face. Mayson rode a little later, but, did good. His Dad had told him that he had better hold on for a long time because he had to pay $20 for him to ride. Mayson was not letting go for anything. His sheep took about 2 steps then fell down he hung on, the sheep tried to get up, but Mayson was not letting go of him. He held that sheep down for quite a while, then they finally told him he could let go. He had a score of 78. The highest until about the second to last kid. That kid got a 79. So Mayson ended up getting second place. I had let him have a mowhawk for a day, kinda funny to see a cowboy with a mowhawk. It got buzzed off the next day. It was a fun day, but we all came home from the rodeo, tired from the sun. Thanks for coming up Mom and Dad!

Here is my little man with a cheeseburger at the Cowboy days rodeo. I absolutely love this picture of my Jackson.

The boys were pretty pumped to have a trophy and a patch. Mayson was none too thrilled to have his picture taken. All he wanted was a funnel cake.

Ohhh man was Jackson proud of that trophy and patch. The patch had to go on his backpack of course.

This picture was before the rodeo started. I just thought he was too cute in his 10 gallon hat climbing the fence, with a John Deere tractor in the background.

Off to school

The boys started school this week. Mayson went to 1st grade on Monday and Jackson started preschool on Tuesday. They were both super excited to go to school. Mayson has Mrs. Moore for a teacher and Jackson has Mrs. Bybee and 2 other helpers. Jackson did so good going to school. I wasn't really worried about him being shy or upset though. He walked in and Said, "hi, I'm Jackson" piece of cake for mamma. He had fun and is excited to find something that starts with L for show and tell tomorrow. Mayson is liking school, but doesn't have much to say about it when he gets home.
As for the rest of us over the past month or so...we haven't really done much. Ryan has been working a ton so he is gone all of the time. We are just super happy he has a job because a lot of people these days don't, so we are not complaining! The boys did go spend a few days with Grandma and Grandpa Low before school started. Grandpa took them fishing at 1st dam. I need to get those pictures off of my phone to post. They also shot bb guns and 22's. Grandma spoiled them and took them to the pool in Logan, they had a blast! Thanks for the nice break mom!
Here are a few pictures of the boys heading to school this week.

I spaced our day at Bear Lake

Last time, I, blogged...I forgot about our fun day at the lake. It was too fun! The weather ws awsome even though it sprinkled rain on us for a little bit. Ryan was home and so we were excited to go all together as a family.

In a nutshell...

I got behind again, spank me! We have been having quite a bit of fun this summer. We found the "Wyoming beach" it's a spot in the river in the state park where we go play. There is a place to take your chair and the kids have an absolute ball. My neighbor invited us to go down there one day, we loved it and went back about 3 more times that week. One of the times, Ryans 2 sisters, and their kids came and played with us for the day at the "beach" They caught a water snake and about 5 frogs. Good times.
We also went to the Wyoming Downs 3 out of the 4 weekends it was opened. My parents came up for the last 2 and we had a great time. I won my 1st bet ever... in the 2 yrs. we have been going, I always bet a little, but have never won. This yr I was $6.20 when I picked #6 to win. I was pretty pumped!
For now, soccer and t-ball are over, we have slowed down a bunch, it's been nice! Ryans work is picking back up a little now too. So we are back to having to do things without our daddy, not the funnest, but we do what we have to. I am just so glad he has a job and is super good at what he does! He takes such great care of us, we have it pretty good!
I also had a few days with afew extra kids. My niece, Wesley, and my nephew Ashton came up for some fun with Aunt Sue. We went down to the Ice Ponds and caught some crawdads, They thought that was pretty awesome, boys loved showing them how to catch them. Ashton, put a leash on one of the crawdads and walked it and named it George. We had a fun time, but it was sure nice when they all went back home.

Our 4th of July update...

For the 4th this year, we went to the parade in Woodruff. Our nieces were on their horses and aunt Tracy and her boys were on a float for the dentist that she works for. We had a great time. We went to Wyoming Downs after that. Then to our buddy Jacobs house for a bbq and fireworks. The fireworks were insane! I have pictures on my phone of what was left after the fireworks show. I need to email them to myself.
Uncle Jason and Jackson on somebodies flatbed, watching the parade.

Caden,Mayson and Jackson having a great time!
The day after, we went on a walk at the state park here in town with some family and ended up seeing a bull moose, right across the river from where we were. It was awsome to see and the boys loved it!

Here you can see how close we were, Jackson is the only one who stood up to get in the picture.
Right when we got done taking his picture, he walked away, good timing on our part.
My next subject is kind of my new hobby, it gives me a rush...no laughing! I got into this bargain grocery shopping thing. Yesterday I could not help, but set it all up on the counter and take pictures of what I bought for $34.00 check it out!
10 boxes of Capri Suns....38 cents a box. 3 boxes of my favoritte cereal, .67 cents a box. The list goes on and on, but I am pretty pumped about it. My shelves downstairs have never been so stalked up. It's so nice!

Mayson also lost yet another tooth. First one on the top he is getting too grown up!

How would it be?

This is how we found Jackson in his room yesterday. Guess he played way to much. Ryan and I had a good laugh and wondered how awsome it must be to be able to fall asleep mid-movement. He's a super fun kid, he keeps us on our toes.

We talked our Daddy into builing a sandbox today. The boys are in heaven. I am quite certain that they will spend a lot of time playing in the sand. They brought mostof the sand inside with them, it was bath night. Jackson had sand caked on his head, I put sunscreen on him right before they got to play in the sand. I'll be scrubbing the bathtub tomorrow! It's so great to actually have some sunshine after all the rain we've had this summer. We are loving it!

It feels like it has been months...

So much has been going on the past few weeks...this may be a long post.
We went to Smithfield, Health Days. That is where I grew up and Health Days was always a big deal. The boys loved the parade, but there favorite was eating pancakes at the fire station and hanging out with all of the firemen and their trucks. That weekend was also Mothers Day weekend. I wished my Mom a happy Mothers day one day early. We got home in time to go to bed and in the morning I awoke to breakfast in bed. It was so cute. I got blueberry, stuffed french toast, hash browns, sausage and juice, it all came along with a pretty pink rose in a vase.
They are they sweetest boys ever!
Mayson and Jackson in a fire engine

This is my cute niece, Machesney...on mothers day her and her sisters and Bailey dipped strawberries in chocolate. They ate every strawberry before they even had time for the chocolate to set up. Machesney is such a chocolate girl, I chased her around to get pictures of her. She couldn't get enough, notice the chocolate on her knuckles.
I got to be a chaperon for a field trip to hogle zoo with the kindergarten. Mayson had his cute little girlfriend, Jessica Stimpson for a partner. They had so much fun together, I caught them cuddling on the bus...so freakin cute!

My little Jackson had a cute program at the preschool he goes to. It was kind of a graduation, but he still has 2 yrs. of preschool before kindergarten. He was so adorable. Front and center on stage, singing his little heart out. I videoed it, I'm going to try to put some of it on here. Here are a few pictures taken after the program.

MY BABY RIDES A BIKE WITH NO TRAINING WHEELS

Off he goes!
We have been telling Jackson that if he can ride his bike with no training wheels, he would be able to ride the 4 wheeler when we go camping this summer. Well, he must have gotten the itch to go camping and ride the 4 wheeler because he decided he wanted his training wheels off! He had ridden his cousin, Tanners bike pretty good a few weeks ago, so I figured he could do it. He rode his old, bent bike for a few days, then his daddy decided he could use a new one. He was at preschool when we went and got him a new bike and when we picked him up from school Ryan showed him the bike in the back of the truck. His eyes have never been so excited, he about jumped out of Ryan's arms. Anyway, he is riding pretty good, not so good downhill, but he'll get it!I also walked into my bedroom the other night...this is what I found. I just think they are so stinkin cute (especially asleep) I just had to grab the camera. We had no idea they had crawled ino our bed and gone to sleep. We just thought they got really quiet. Ryan and I were downstairs watching a movie.

Behind Again

I got behind again, but this time I have an excuse. My computer has been on the fritz!! That is a nice way of putting it, I've been so frustrated with it, it has actually made me cry a little. A word to the wise, if your computer asks you if you want to download Internet explorer 8...DON"T DO IT!! Come to find out that was my whole problem. A computer genius at Schlumberger told Ryan how I could get rid of it and it is back to normal now.

We had a great Easter, just the normal stuff. I did have my cute niece and nephew here this year it was fun. Grandma Erickson did her annual egg hunt and the kids got spoiled as usual.
Easter morning trying to get a good picture before primary.
4th time is a charm!

We also went to Saint George this past week for Maysons' spring break. It was fun, we got to stay with Ryan's little sister, Katie, who is in Hurricane. Her little boys are darling my boys loved playing with them! We had nice weather the 1st day and a half we were there. We left on Wednesday afternoon and drove home in a snowstorm.
Jackson, Mayson and cousin Caden
Mayson was quite the climber, he climbed up everything like a monkey

This weekend, I had a baby shower for one of my girlfriends I went to high school with. It was down in Smithfield, so the boys and I went and stayed with Grandpa Low. After the shower, we went over to my brother, Jeffs' house and played with his kids. They are all getting so big. Saturday morning, Jeff and Tanner had built a bike jump. Well, Mayson showed up and was all over that. He was riding Tanners bike, which is tiny for him, but it was his only option. By the end of the night it was discovered that he had broken out the bearings on the front tire and could not be fixed. I felt horrible, I also knew how it would be at my house if the weather was nice and someone had broken one of my kids' bikes. So off Michelle and I go to walmart to get Tanner a new bike. We split the cost and upgraded him a size in the bike world. All is good there I think. Hopefully Tanner is the only one that will break his bike on the jump now. LOL
Mayson and Grandpa Low
Jackson with Grandpa

We had a good visit with my Dad, who is home alone for a bit. Mom is still taking care of Grandpa Mohrlock in San Diego. I could tell he was happy to have visitors. He played with the boys for hours. Jackson teased him with his blankie, Mayson asked him 100,000 questions about everything imaginable. It was fun. Then they got Grandpa to break out the pellet gun and let them shoot at buffalo targets. Talk about the highlight of their LIVES! They would hit the metal target and it would make a ping sound and their little eyes would light up. Mayson got the hang of the sight very quickly and was shooting really well by the time they were done. Jackson would me staring at me while Grandpa aimed then he would pull the trigger...PRICELESS!! I wish I had gotten my camera out on several different occasions during this little trip, but I suck and only got pictures of the best part!

I need to get caught up!!

I know, I need a spankin...I've been a blog slacker!! I am going to combine my last week or so into one post.
I'm also going to go in the wrong order, I know naughty huh?

Ryan came home from his 8 day hitch at work on Tuesday night around 8:00, I had let the boys stay up because they were excited to see him. They were downstairs when he got home, I was on the computer upstairs. They boys trampled him for a few minutes then he came up the stairs...I turned around and he was holding a dozen of the preetiest colored roses I had ever seen! This NEVER happens! I just about peed my pants! He is the sweetest boy, when he wants to be. He said he thought I sounded a little blue on the phone and thought the flowers would cheer me up...It did, except it brought tears to my eyes, it did again just typing this post! Anyway, I was very excited about it! That is a HUGE thing for Ryan to do. Oh and then today, we were talking about it and he said he was looking for daisies, (which are my fav and I had no idea he knew that) but they didn't have any! I love this boy so stinkin much!!
Last Friday night, I also helped with my niece, Baileys birthday party with her friends. They wanted their hair done, manicures, pedicures, the works. Bailey, her mom, Tracy and 2 of her friends came up to my house and we dolled them up. Afterwards, we all went to eat at Don Pedros. It was such a fun night. I was super excited that she wanted me to help, since I get so much girly time and all! While we were at dinner, I made Mayson a 3 dollar bet that he would not eat a jalepeno. So, he had to be tough in front of all of the girls, he totally did it. He was playing it cool for quite a while, then the burn really set in. Even the little, mexican waiter was giggling. We were all busting up. He is such a funny kid, we love him. Anyhow, here are a few pictures of our fun night. Tracy has a great picture ofo the pepper bet on her blog, I forgot my camera!
This is my other niece, Megan.
This is Bailey
This is Tracy, giving Emily her manicure
Mayson and Jackson were the photographers by the way. I have countless pictures of walls, tongues,etc.. I chose to not post any of those.
And last, but not least, Mayson had a wrestling match in Morgan last night. He got third place. After his first to matches my video camera was out of disc space, so I took still photos of his 3rd match. I am slow with my camera. He pinned this kid, when they raised his hand at the end, I missed it. You should have seen the ref roll his eyes when I asked him to do it again so I could get a picture of it. What us moms won't do for a kodak moment! Anyway, tonight is the last match of the season, it's in Kemmerer. I'll keep everyone posted on how he does tonight.
